Dahlberg’s Agency, operating as part of Saimaa Terminals, is the first Finnish ship agent to be awarded the FONASBA Quality Standard by The Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents.
“We are thrilled to receive this award as the first Finnish company to meet the criteria for the international standard,” says Tomi Rautio, CEO of Dahlberg’s Agency.
The award was presented to Tomi Rautio by Jouni Ahrela, Chair of the Board of Shipbrokers Finland. “Shipbrokers Finland congratulates Tomi and his great team! We expect the example set by Dahlberg’s Agency will soon get other Finnish enterprises to join the group of certified companies. The standard is a guarantee of good work quality,” says Chair Ahrela.
Dahlberg’s Agency is one of the largest ship agents in Finland and handles about 2,000 brokerage assignments per year at the ports of Kotka, Hamina, Helsinki, Sipoo, Turku and Rauma as well as all the ports of Lake Saimaa. Saimaa Terminals offers harbour and terminal services at the ports of Lake Saimaa and Hamina and specialises in processing various project cargoes.
Saimaa Terminals and Dahlberg’s Agency are part of the Steveco Group. The company was the first port operator in Finland to be awarded the ISO 9002 quality certificate and is now also the first Finnish recipient of the FONASBA Quality Standard.
Shipbrokers Finland is the national association of shipbrokers, chartering brokers and liner agents operating in Finland. The association promotes the operational conditions for its member companies and the maritime transports of Finland’s foreign trade. Shipbrokers Finland was founded in 1920, and it is a founding member of The Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents FONASBA.
The FONASBA Quality Standard can be awarded to any association member company that meets the certification criteria.
